Grand Valley picks up a transfer with the potential to help the team right away this season. Find out more about the newest Laker right here.

Former Michigan State safety Enrique Shaw has transferred to Grand Valley State.

The 6'2, 190-lb Shaw originally hails from Lexington, Kentucky and signed with the Spartans in 2006. After redshirting his freshman season, he injured his knee and was granted a medical hardship for the 2007 season. As a result, he will have four years of eligibility left with the Lakers.

Shaw voluntarily left the MSU program last week and will begin practicing with the Lakers soon, possibly as soon as Thursday. While he played defensive back at MSU, he will also be looked at as a wide receiver in Allendale.
